I have the perfect house for today. I have a balcony and it gives me a great view of two of the best firework shows in town. And best part of all I don't have to fight the crowd or worry about the parking. The fireworks were great but what was even greater were the hords of children with their parents on the hill behind my hosue. One kid in particular really made me smile. The fireworks started a bit early and this little boy was racing up the hill yelling ' Fireworks! Fireworks!' and then when it was done he proudly exclaimed how he was 'thrilled with the performance'. I almost forgot what it was like to be so excited about such things...but he re-instilled in me my sence of awe. That's the part about growing up that I hate. Forgetting about how cool the little things are and taking the big ones for granted. Like the very fact that today we, as Canadians, are celebrating our freedom and independce. It's very easy to just view this day as one that gives us a three day weekend. But it is so much more than that. I thank God for this awesomely big blessing of living in, if I do say so myslef, the best Country a girl could ask to live in. Also for the small coolness of fireworks that light up the sky.
This year it is my prayer that Canada will become a God fearing nation, a nation of prayer and of prosperity.
It's a new season.
Happy Birthday Canada!!!!
2 Chronicles 7:14
" If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land."
